Each surf session runs for 2 hours and includes full beach instruction before we hit the water — so you’ll be well prepped before paddling out 🌊
All prices include everything you’ll need: surfboards, rash guards, and surf hats. Just bring your swimmers, a towel, and some sunscreen and you’re good to go!
One quick note: we can only accept cash payments at the beach. If you’d prefer to pay by card, you can do that at our surf shop before the lesson.
Surf Lesson Prices
Group surf lessons 2 to 4 persons – prices per person
If you’ve got two or more people in your group — or just want to meet some other surfers — a group lesson is a great option! They’re perfect for friends, corporate outings, or even bachelor/bachelorette parties 🏄♀️🌞
Our groups are small, with just 3 students per instructor, so everyone gets plenty of attention. It’s all about having fun and feeling safe in the water! If there are any little surfers under 10, they’ll get their own instructor for that extra one-on-one support.
Each 2-hour group lesson is 1,400 baht per person, and that includes your board and rash guard. For kids under 10, it’s 1,800 baht per session.
We also have a 5-day group program for 6,300 baht — that’s with a 10% discount.

Private surf lessons (1 on 1 with our head instructor) prices per person
Private Lesson
Our head instructor will be there just for you, giving you full one-on-one attention — perfect for any age or skill level, whether you’re just starting out or looking to level up your surfing 🏄♂️
The private lesson runs for 2 hours. We start on the beach with some land-based tips and practice, then head into the water for more coaching. Before you know it, you’ll be up and riding your first wave!
A 2-hour private session is 2,000 baht, and if you’d like to bring someone along, it’s 1,600 baht extra.
We also have a 5-day private program for 9,000 baht (which includes a 10% discount).

We offer custom lessons where we focus on exactly what you want to improve — whether it’s paddling, pop-ups, turns, timing, or anything else. We’ll also help spot anything that might be holding you back and work on that too.
These lessons are totally flexible and tailored to your needs, in and out of the water. Great for all levels and all ages — as long as you’re keen to progress!
It’s 1,000 baht per hour, and you can decide how long you’d like to go for.

Making a booking Learn to Surf
Beginner Surfing Lessons
You can call us directly to make a booking for one of our daily group beginner surf lessons, or you can contact us through the contact page on this website. We recommend you book in advance to avoid disappointment, turning up on the day without a booking is not advised, as we are quite busy during the surf season and there is a big chance we won’t have a place available for you.
We don’t require a deposit for booking our daily surfing lessons but if you are booked in, we do appreciate you contacting us to advise of cancellation.
Private Surfing Lessons
Private surfing lessons are essential to book in advance so we can arrange the best instructor to suit your level of surfing experience. We require a 50% deposit to confirm a private lesson booking.
Surfing Rentals
In the surf season from May to October, most people go directly to Bang Tao beach and hire surfboards from our Surfing School without making an advance booking. In the off-season our equipment is rented from the Saltwater Dreaming Surf Shop.
Also if you would like to rent a surfboard other than a soft top you need to go to the surf shop. If you wish to make an advance booking to avoid missing out please contact us. You don’t need a deposit to book surfboard.
Kids Surf Camps
Kids Surf Camps are essential to pre-book because we are always fully booked and have a limited number of places available. We require a 50% deposit to book a surf camp package.
Cancellation and Refund Policies
To confirm a booking for both Surf Camps and Private Lessons you must pay a 50% deposit. This deposit is non-refundable if the customer decides to cancel the booking within 24 hours for a private lesson or within 7 days for one of our surf camps. Otherwise we will refund the deposit less 10% for booking fees.
We are happy to transfer your booking date, or transfer your deposit to another person, if places are available.
Lessons and deposits are fully refundable if the Saltwater Dreaming Surfing School cancels the surfing lesson due to extreme weather conditions or other circumstances.
Insurance
You should always have medical insurance whenever you travel abroad. Your medical insurance must cover you while you are surfing. It must also cover you in the event that you require emergency evacuation or repatriation.
